Original one-of-a-kind folk art Santa Claus sculpture by Elizabeth Britton. This handmade Christmas ornament is sculpted from papier mache and hand painted with a bright red coat and hat, textured cream-colored trim, a long dimensional beard, blue eyes, and rosy cheeks. The deliberately rough, heavily textured surface gives Santa a wonderfully primitive, rustic folk art appearance.

A string hanger runs through the hat for display on a Christmas tree, wall hook, or holiday ornament stand. The underside is hand-marked in pen: “Original Folk Art Sculpture By Elizabeth Britton.”

A charming piece of original Christmas folk art rather than a mass-produced ornament, perfect for collectors of handmade holiday decor, primitive art, papier mache figures, and unusual Santa ornaments.

Charming vintage Christmas pig ornament, estimated to date from around the 1950s–1960s. This quirky little yellow pig wears a bright red velvety coat and green felt scarf and carries a red-and-white chenille candy cane. It has felt ears and hooves, plastic eyes, a soft velvety snout and body, and a gold hanging string.

The mixed-material construction and whimsical design are characteristic of mid-century kitsch Christmas ornaments. It seems to be a Japanese kitsch piece, although this piece is unmarked and its country of origin cannot be confirmed. The tail is made from bendable metal wire and can be gently reshaped.

Condition: Good vintage condition with some age-related wear. There is a small hole on the side of the snout, as pictured.
