Overview
The Chats page is your inbox for all conversations on Sellwild. Message sellers about listings, coordinate shipping details, or discuss orders with buyers.
By User vs By Listing Views
Toggle between two ways to view your conversations:
- Chats by User -- Groups all messages with a particular person into one thread
- Chats by Listing -- Shows conversations organized by the specific item being discussed
Unread Indicators
Unread conversations are highlighted with a badge showing the number of new messages. The chat icon in the navigation also shows your total unread count.
Sending Messages
Open a conversation and type your message in the input field at the bottom. Messages are delivered instantly. Automatic moderation filters out inappropriate content to keep the platform safe.
Managing Conversations
Use the options menu on a conversation to Delete it. To Block or Report someone, open the menu (the vertical-dots icon) next to their name inside the open chat:
- Delete -- Remove the conversation from your inbox
- Block -- Stop receiving messages from this user
- Report -- Flag the conversation for the moderation team
Tips
- Ask about item details before purchasing
- Use chat to coordinate local pickup logistics
- Block users who send spam or inappropriate messages
