Buy one listing in the promotion, get a personal code for money off the next one. You pick the percentage, the listings and how long codes last. Sellwild sends each code and checks it at checkout.
How a BOGO promotion works
- You attach the promotion to some of your listings.
- A buyer buys one of them. When the sale is marked Completed, they get a reward code such as BOGO-7K2QXM.
- They sign in and enter the code at checkout on another listing in the same promotion.
- That second purchase does not earn another reward.
The promotion's own code is never used at checkout. Typed in, it gets "This code cannot be applied to an order".
Start a promotion
- Open the form
On the Discounts page, press Create on the BOGO preset. If you already have a 50% BOGO the preset is hidden, so press Create Coupon and pick Buy One, Get One (BOGO) in Discount Type.
- Set the reward
Fill in Discount for Next Purchase (%), and Reward Valid For (Days), from 1 to 365 (30 to start with). Under them, the form lists the rules and the most a $30 purchase can earn.
- Leave the rest
The code is filled in for you. Total Usage Limit and Per Buyer Limit are fixed at 1, because each reward is good for one order. A BOGO has no Minimum Purchase ($): any paid sale of an attached listing earns the reward. Start Date and End Date set when purchases earn rewards.
- Press Create Coupon, then add listings
Press Add listings on the new card. Its list is headed Listings in this promotion: buying any of them earns a reward, and the reward can be spent on any of them. See Choose Listings for a Discount.
What each reward is

| One per sale | Each completed sale earns one code. A cancelled sale earns nothing. |
| Theirs only | Only the buyer who earned it can use it. Anyone else gets "This coupon was issued to a different account", and a guest gets "Sign in to use this coupon". |
| Capped | It takes off at most the promotion's percentage of what they paid for the first item, shipping left out. A $30 item at 50% earns up to $15 off. |
| Single use | One order, then it is spent. |
| Same listings | It works on the listings the promotion had when it was earned. |
| It expires | After Reward Valid For (Days). |
Changing the percentage later only changes rewards earned after that.
What the buyer gets
A notification, "You earned a discount!", with the code, the percentage and the expiry date. It links to your shop. Buyers who get promotional emails also get the code by email.
Track rewards
Its card on the Discounts page counts rewards issued and redeemed instead of uses.
Reward spend gets its own line in the discount digest email. A redeemed reward costs you like any coupon: it comes out of your share, and the fee is worked out on the lower price. See Fees and What You Earn.
Pause, end or delete
Pause stops new rewards, and every code already sent is refused with "This coupon has been paused by the seller". Resume brings them all back. When the End Date passes, new rewards stop but codes already sent still work until they expire.
If an order paid with a reward is cancelled, the buyer gets the code back. An unfinished payment returns it within about two hours.
